We are an international academic couple who travel frequently to Europe (Portugal and France in particular) for both business and pleasure. We have no children, but would consider exchanges with families with older children. Third bedroon currently in use as an office, but a bed could be easily arranged. A smoker works in that room but we use air cleaners so it's no so bad. Upstairs is carpeted, downstairs is all hardwood floors. We have 2 cars, so a car exchange is also a possibility.
